RE: Insurance

I suggest looking into the current stability of the companies. Also, I charged the full year of insurance with Progressive and saved $80!!!! I was shocked at the difference, and will always inquire the cost to pay in full from now on.

RE: Wire or Wireless Backup Camera?

If wireless is out of the question, which wired system would you recommend? I'd like to use one camera for the truck for backing up, with another camera in back of the trailer that would stay on whenever the trailer is hitched. I like the 4.5" monitor for the dashboard.

Wire or Wireless Backup Camera?

Does anyone know of a wireless backup camera (and monitor) that will transmit up to 50 feet to put on the back of the trailer? I looked at the wireless Audiovox ACA450 camera with 4.5" monitor for about $200, but couldn't find the specs on how far that camera will transmit. Thanks!

Trailer tire pressure

Do you keep the trailer tire pressure at max or under the max? I've heard reasons for both.

RE: thanks for the help!

I get more of the "I'm so jealous" reaction, and my answer is, "so am I," because I still can't believe that it's me doing this!!!

RE: used book sales

Thanks soooo much. I just found a book sale tomorrow right here! We're headed out to full-time in about 2 weeks, and I need a new stack of books.

RE: Camping Cost?

We are now full-timers since we handed over the key to our apartment & also retired YESTERDAY!!! YAAAA!!! I was looking for the same information, and am pleased to find that once we leave S. Florida in 2 weeks we won't have to pay $750/month (at the County Park in our area) any longer. We would like to head west, probably I-20, and take it 200 miles at a time, with no time limit expectations of getting anywhere, at any specific time. We want to "see the USA in our Chevrolet", and meet people from all places, so our stays may be daily, weekly, or monthly, depending on how we feel that day. A retirement dream come true!

RE: Towel drying

Here's the link to a pop-up clothes hanger that we keep in the shower. It folds into a small space and works better than anything we've tried yet. You can even use it outside.

RE: Storing winter clothes

Since we've lived in South Florida most of our lives, anything under 80 degrees is cold for us, so the winter clothes have to go with us wherever we go. Thanks to all the good ideas, we'll roll, suck, and stow.

RE: Storing winter clothes

We have the vacuum bags but I was afraid that the clothes would become permanently creased after 6 months of being squooshed.

Storing winter clothes

We're packing up the tt to full-time for the first time. We put all of our winter clothes under the bed in large plastic boxes and the shoes in the original shoeboxes. Does anybody know how they're supposed to be stored?

RE: Low Carb BBQ Sauce Recipe

I'm at work (MY LAST DAY BEFORE RETIREMENT & HITTING THE ROAD FULL-TIMING), so I don't have my recipes in front of me, but these Low-Carb recipes are easy.
Cauliflower potato salad - just replace the potato with fresh cauliflower cooked just enough so that it's still crispy.
Cauliflower mashed potatoes - Mash cooked cauliflower with cheddar cheese and sour cream. Bake in a baking dish until the top is brown.

We love, love, love our Hensley

No robbing banks if you have a Hensley, because there's no fast getaway! It sure takes a long time to hitch to the truck. Any ideas to make this an easier connect?

Hi! We took our first trip and when we arrived at our destination, we found all our clothes in the closet on the floor. Does anyone have any tricks to keeping the hangers hung up? Thanks!

Generator quesion

We're stocking the travel trailer and since we're in Florida most of the time, we need a generator that will run the a/c along with the fridge. Price is no matter for this selection. Is Honda our best choice for a quiet and efficient generator? What size would we need to run both the a/c and the frige at the same time?

Orlando to California

We'll be taking our first trip in the RV, traveling I-10 from Orlando to California, then back to San Antonio, Texas. We'll be retired so we're not in a hurry, but we'd like to get a rough idea of about how many traveling days that may be.
